Meeting of Lacey Rotary Club

Visiting Rotarian:
Ryan Cuoio introduced Jim Phillips,
representing Boy Scouts of America
 Jim Burton introduced Renee Savage,
a past acquaintance and an IT Specialist.
  The next meeting on October 30th
 will be  a special evening at Charie Safari.
The Book Drive is under way for the South Sound Reading Foundation. Bring children's books or cash to the meeting.

 Tony Barret asked for information from members heading up hands-on projects. He is creating a list of all current service projects and the lead persons.
 Irene Emmons-Perez is scheduling commitments for Salvation Army Bell-ringer this fall. Sign up with her for a location and date/time.
 Greg Cuoio asked for volunteers to be a part of a three-Club effort to build a tiny house used for transitional housing. One can be a worker or a mentor or just a helper.  A grant has been acquired from Rotary International. Greg will pass around a schedule for sign-ups at future meetings.

 Dustin Wilson reminder: Cool Jazz/Clean Water event will take place next month.
 Ray Hardee reminder: Continue supporting the Other Bank with toiletries, personal care products or cash. The Other Bank is now co-located with the Food Bank..
 North Thurston School District Ballot

Dr. Clemons reviewed the ballot issues coming up for a vote on by February 11, 2020
Judy Wilson also spoke in favor of the proposed Levy and Bond, and encouraged everyone to vote by next February 11th.
Judy was applauded for her many years of work supporting the school district bonds.
 Mike Marohn fined members and opened discussion from the members.
 Keith Lockwood reported, - for each pint of beer you buy at O'Blarney's or Top Rung Brewery next Thursday, the 31st, a dollar will be contributed to fight polio through Rotary International.
Ken Fialkowski opened the discussion of football games which led to disclosure of a wager to be payed by Mike Marohn.




Food Bank Thursday: The third Thursday of each month at 5:30 PM, our Club supports the Food Bank at its warehouse on Mottman Road on the city's west side. 

May 15 & 16, 2020: District Conference in Victoria, BC.
June 6 - 10, 2020: Rotary Convention in Honolulu.
